The community also organized a wide range of events to spread the teachings of Prophet Mohammed. Preachers spoke about the significance of celebrating the birthday of Prophet Mohammed at Eid-e-Milad meetings held at mosques.

However, certain Muslim scholars and Muslim organizations have criticized the celebration of this day as the birthday of Prophet Mohammed. A Salafi cleric called Yaqoob Kallarpe said that the prophet has warned Muslims against innovations in religion and that the prophet and his disciples never celebrated Eid-e-Milad in any part of the world, throughout the history of Islam.

They said that Muslims should follow the teachings of Prophet Mohammed and spread the message of peace instead of displaying badges and banners and shouting slogans.
