Mangalore, May 03, 2014: Nagaradhane or worship of Lord Naga is an integral part of the culture and tradition of the land, said Sri Gurudevananda Swamiji of Sri Kshetra Odiyoor.
He was speaking after inaugurating a religious function and cultural programmes arranged at Alake in the city on May 2, Friday in connection the renovation, Bimba Pratishtapane, Brahmakalashotsava and Ashta Pavitra Nagamandalotsava at Alake Shree Nagabrahma Temple and Kallurti Panjurli Daivasthana.
The seer further said there can be good traditions only when we protect our culture. Religious shrines should be renovated in harmony with nature without causing any disturbance to nature, he said and stressed the need for an apolitical fight against the proposed Niddodi project.
Sri Mohandasa Paramahamsa Swamiji of Sri Kshetra Manila blessed the occasion. Kamaladevi Prasad Asranna, priest of Kateel Temple and Raghavendra Shastri of Sharavu Mahaganapathi Temple were the chief guests. AJ Shetty, President of AJ Group of Institutions and Honorary President of the Renovation Committee, presided over the function.
Krishnaprasad Madtila, President of Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple Management Committee, B Ravindranath Rai,President of Renovation Committee and others were present.
