Mangaluru, Sep 19, 2016: Naresh Shenoy the prime accused in Vinayak Baliga murder case realeased on bail at 7.30 pm today , Sept. 19 2016. Naresh sheony has been granted conditional bail by the High Court on September 15.
The single member bench led by Justice B Srinivase Gowda which accepted the application moved by Shenoy’s lawyer seeking bail, granted conditional bail subject to furnishing a personal bond of Rs 2 lakhs and an equal amount as surety from two persons.
The court has also put forth a condition that Shenoy should co-operate in the investigation, should not try to destroy evidences and should appear for hearing before the court and investigation officer without fail.
Naresh Shenoy, who was on the run following the RTI activist’s murder on March 21, was arrested by the CCB unit of the city police from a house in Hejmady near Mulky on June 25. He is among the seven persons arrested in connection with the murder.
After he was arrested he had applied for bail in Mangalore courts. II Additional District and Sessions Judge Sarvodaya Shettigar had rejected the bail application filed by him on 9th August. Subsequently Naresh Shenoy had approached the state high court for relief. Even earlier, when he was in hiding, he had made two failed attempts to gain anticipatory bail.
