Mangalore, Feb9, 2013 : A National level Law Fest - ‘Victoria Iuris - 13’ organised at the SDM Law College here on February 8, Friday in association with the Centre for Post Graduate Studies and Research in Law was inaugurated by Ashok G Nijagannavar, Principal District and Sessions Judge
In his address, Nijagannavar said law students have a huge moral responsibility and that they have to see to it that the confidence reposed on lawyers by the public is retained. He also highlighted the role of the lawyers in delivering justice. He further said the legal system does not aim to increase litigations and make money, but instead attempts have to be made to settle cases through mutual talks.
Dr. B K Ravindra, Principal, SDM Law College, Mangalore, emphasized the need for students to imbibe good virtues while also excelling academically.
Dr. P S Yedapadithaya, Registrar, Mangalore University, presided over the function.
Greeshma Rai, Vice Chairperson, Moot Court Society, Chirag Adiga, Coordinator Anish Acharya, Coordinators and others were present.
