Mangalore, Jan26, 2012 : The valedictory ceremony of the 4-day national-level Bal Bharat Srujanotsav 2012 was held at Pilikula Nisargadhama in Moodushedde on Jan 25 Wednesday in the presence of Dr. V. S. Acharya, the state higher education minister.
Dr. K. N. Vijayaprakash, the CEO of the Zilla Panchayat (ZP), delivered the welcome address and Dr. V. S. Acharya released the Bal Bharat Srujanotsav 2012 souvenir.
In his address, Dr. Acharya said that children from all over India got a chance to experience the culture of Karnataka through this event. Lamenting that children of his generation could never experience events such as these, he said that modern children are exposed not only to the best of academics, but also to extra curricular activities. He appreciated modern kids for their ability to operate computers and other modern gadgets with ease. He urged the children to grab all opportunities, achieve much, and make the nation proud.
MLA Abhayachandra Jain released a magazine on this occasion.
On behalf of District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar, Dr. V. S. Acharya presented a cheque for Rs. 2 lakh for the development of Pilikula Nisargadhama to J. R. Lobo, the executive director.
A colorful cultural show by the children formed part of the event.
Dr. N. S. Channappa Gowda, the deputy commissioner, MCC Commissioner Dr. Harish Kumar; Sulochana T. K. Bhat, Bhavya Gangadhar, and Fr. Edward Thomas, the director of St. Joseph’s Engineering College, were also present.
