Navarathri celebrations begin at Kudroli Temple

Mangalore, Oct 16, 2012: The installation of the idol of Goddess Sharadadevi marked the beginning of the Navarathri celebrations at Shri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple at Kudroli on Oct 16, Tuesday. Chanting of hymns and religious rituals formed part of the event.
Earlier the idols of the Navadurgas—Shailaputri, Dishakti, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kooshmadini, Katyayini, Skandamatha, Mahagowri, Mahakali, and Siddidhatri—were installed.
Among those present were Prathap Reddy, IGP of western range, and his wife; Rohan Monteiro of Property Infratech; Rajendra Kumar of SCDCC Bank; and Ramesh Kumar of Janatha Construction and deepa builders.
Lord Ganesha was worshipped after the installation of the idol of Sharadadevi.
Devotees in large numbers took part in these ceremonies.
