Mangaluru, September 3, 2023: In connection with the distribution of MDMA, a synthetic drug, to drug dealers in Mangaluru city, CCB personnel apprehended a Nigerian national residing in Bengaluru. The individual in question, identified as Adewole Adetutu Aanu, also known as Rejina Zara and Ayisha (33), hails from Ondo State in Nigeria and currently resides on Chokkanahalli Main Road in Yelahanka, Bengaluru, according to Commissioner of Police Kuldeep Kumar R Jain.
Recently, the CCB team conducted multiple operations, resulting in the confiscation of substantial quantities of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) valued at lakhs of rupees.
During their investigation into the drug trade, the police discovered the involvement of a Nigerian national who had been apprehended in Bengaluru. This individual was found in possession of 400 grams of MDMA worth Rs 20 lakhs, an iPhone, and Rs 2,910 in cash, amounting to a total seized property value of Rs 20,52,910.
The Commissioner revealed that the arrested individual had been in India on a student visa and had worked as a nurse for a period. Subsequently, she became involved in drug trafficking. Cases have been registered against her at Ullal, CEN station, Mangaluru North, Kankanady town, Konaje, and Surathkal stations.
The raid was conducted by a team led by CCB ACP P A Hegde, along with police inspector Shyam Sundar HM and PSIs Rajendra B, Sharanappa Bhandary, Sudeep MV, Narendra, and others.
