Nitte DU signs MoU with Wipro Enterprises Pvt Ltd

Mangaluru, Feb 04, 2023: In the presence of Prof. (Dr). Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice Chancellor of Nitte (Deemed to be University), the MoU was signed by Prof. (Dr.) Harsha N Halahalli, Registrar, Nitte (Deemed to be University) and Mr. Yathiraj Kasal, General Manager Head Wipro 3D Division, Wipro Enterprises, Private Limited, on 3rd February 2023 in Nitte DU Deralakatte campus, Mangalore. The other dignitaries present on the occasion include Prof. (Dr) M. S. Moodithaya, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Nitte DU, Prof. (Dr) Praveen Kumar Shetty, Director Research, Prof. (Dr) Niranjan N. Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT, Prof. (Dr.) Nagesh Prabhu, Director (Curriculum Development), Nitte DU, Prof. (Dr.) Srinikethan, Director (Technical Research), Prof. (Dr.) Shrinivasa Rao, Vice Principal & CoE, NMAMIT, Prof.(Dr.) A. N. Parameswaran, Director-IIC, NMAMIT, Prof. (Dr.) Srinivasa P Pai, Dy Dean (Academics) & HOD Mechanical Engineering, NMAMIT, Mr. Arpit Agarwal, Manager-Addwize Wipro 3D  and Dr. Vijeesh V, Associate Professor, NMAMIT, Nitte.

 

The objective of the MOU was to impart student and faculty training in the emerging area of additive manufacturing by setting up a state-of-art Center of Excellence (CoE) in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Engineering at NMAMIT, an Off-Campus Center of Nitte DU. It facilitates product conceptualization, 3D printing, rapid prototyping & Digital transformation of manufacturing for medical and engineering applications.

As a part of MOU, Nitte DU and Wipro3D will offer joint certification training programs on digital engineering and its application to the students of Nitte DU which will enhance the quality of education and add value to the course curriculum. It also provides an opportunity for the students, scholars to carry out research, M. Tech. and B.Tech projects on the industry-relevant problem statements in the area of 3D printing, artificial intelligence, orthopedic bio-material development, predictive maintenance, cybersecurity for manufacturing, IoT & digital twin, and virtual reality/augmented reality.

Further, Wipro3D will provide internships to the students, and job opportunities to the students of NMAMIT. Besides, the faculty members shall collaborate with Wipro3D to carry out joint research, take up consultancy projects and apply for funded projects in the areas of the purview of this MoU.
