Mangaluru, Oct 30, 2023: Nitte (Deemed to be University) is holding its 13th Annual Convocation, scheduled for Saturday, 4th November 2023, at the Nitte Grounds, located within the sprawling Medical Sciences campus. The event will commemorate the academic accomplishments of 1254 eligible candidates from a diverse range of programsincluding 25 Doctoral Degree (Ph. D) awards. 

 

 

 

The Convocation, a significant milestone in the university’s academic calendar, will witness the conferment of degrees to successful candidates excelling in Doctoral, Postgraduate, Fellowship, Postgraduate Diploma, and Undergraduate programs offered by the esteemed faculties of Medicine, Dental Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Biological Sciences, Allied Health Sciences, Humanities, and Architecture.

Honoris Causa (Honorary Doctorate) will be conferred on Justice N. Santosh Hegde, Former Supreme Court Judge and Former Lokayukta of Karnataka, for his contributions to the legal profession, and Sri. Shashikiran Shetty, Chairman& Founder of Allcargo Group, for his remarkable achievements in the business world. Additionally, 31 University Toppers will receive Gold Medals in recognition of their academic excellence.

Sri N. Vinaya Hegde, Hon’ble Chancellor of the University, will preside over the convocation ceremony.Dr. Omid Ansary, Executive Director for International Affairs at Pennsylvania State University, Harrisburg, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest and will deliverthe Convocation address to the graduating class of 2023.Prof. Dr. M. Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor (Hospital Management), Sri. Vishal Hegde, Pro Chancellor (Admin), Prof. Dr. M. S. Moodithaya, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Harsha Halahalli, Registrar, and Prof. Dr. Prasad B. Shetty, Controller of Examinations will be present.

Nitte (Deemed to be University) has been placed 65th among Indian Universities in the NIRF 2023 rankings. The university has also been accredited with an A+ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of India and has secured a position among the top 500 universities in Asia according to the QS World Universities Rankings 2023. Furthermore, the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings have recognized the university as one of the world’s top 400 universities for its sustainable development efforts.
