No major projects in DK since 28 years; elect Mithun for development: Janardhana Poojary’s son

Mangaluru, Apr 12, 2019 : Santosh J Poojary, son of senior Congress leader and former union minister B Janardhana Poojary  has alleged that no major project has come up in the district since the past 28 years during the tenure of BJP parliamentarians. He  has expressed his full support to Mithun Rai, the Congress candidate from Dakshina Kannada constituency. Speaking to reporters here on April 12, Friday, he  also stated that the Congress must be supported for the overall development of the district.

Making it clear that the family members of Janardhana Poojary had never used his political influence  though he was active in politics for nearly five decades, Santhosh said it has become inevitable to present a few facts considering the political scenario in the coastal district.

Pointing out that Dakshina Kannada is a land of intelligent and enterprising people who have excelled in various spheres, he said there was nothing wrong in the people of the district  wishing to have an educated representative for them in the Parliament.

He  said during the past five years of the BJP rule the  policies of the Union Government have disturbed the economy of the region with even the trade and industry sector incurring losses.

Stating that it was wrong to allege that the Congress has neglected Billawas, he said the party  has given opportunity to Billawa candidates in every election. He said the people of the district must support the Congress which promotes social justice.
