Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, December 23, 2024: The Nethravathi riverbank, that was once abuzz with unloading of sand from boats and loading it to trucks, has become busy again, but for a different reason this time. For the first time in the Netravathi river area near Mangaluru, a water sports activity has come up beckoning Mangalureans as well as tourists.

The first left turn on a small road just after the Netravathi Bridge while driving from Mangaluru towards Thokkottu on Panvel-Kochi National Highway 66 leads one to Adam Kudru. Though the Kudru (river island) is no more after the formation of the highway, the name still exists. An expansive Dhakke (boat landing point) on the riverbank abutting a creek hosts the water sports activities.
