Only 10 street vendors issued ID cards so far, says Mayor

Mangaluru, August 5, 2024: City Mayor Sudhir Shetty Kannur has informed that only 10 street vendors in the city limits have been provided identity cards and that the cards could not be issued to the rest as they have declined to submit an affidavit accepting all the 18 conditions laid down by the City Corporation.

Speaking to reporters here on Monday, the  Mayor said the allegation of the representatives of street vendors association that the City Corporation was doing injustice to the street vendors, was baseless.

He said the City Corporation was ready to identity to prominent roads and arrange for a food street system through tenders.

He also said the Operation Tiger targeting street vendors will continue.
