Udupi, Aug 07, 2019: Over 60 cattle that were reportedly being transported without proper documents were seized by the Kaup Police on August 7, Wednesday. Sources said the cattle were being taken to a goshala at Shankerpura.
It is gathered that the cattle were brought from Kerala. Some Hindu outfits reportedly tipped off the cops which led to the operation. Kaup police intercepted the three trucks and found over 60 cattle in them. Two calves in the vehicles were however found dead.
Following the incident several Hindu activists gathered in front of the Kaup police station.
