PM Modi Supports Israel to Appease US: CPIM Leader Yadav Shetty

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, October 27, 2024: CPI(M) General Secretary Yadav Shetty has alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is backing Israel, which is committing a massacre in Palestine, in an attempt to align with the United States. Shetty made these remarks while speaking at the inauguration of the CPI(M) Mangalore City South Conference at VSK Hall, Kottara Chowki.

“The world is in a concerning state. The Israel-Palestine conflict has been ongoing for over a year, and Israel’s actions have led to the deaths of 48,000 people, including 16,000 women and children,” Shetty stated. “The CPI(M) condemns this brutal atrocity.”

He further criticized the Modi government for not fulfilling its promises of “Achhe Din” (good days), doubling farmers’ income, and creating two crore jobs, stating that public resources have instead been given to corporate giants like Ambani and Adani. Shetty also noted that labor laws achieved through decades of Communist struggles have been amended, favoring corporates and neglecting farmers, leading to the deaths of over 715 farmers in prolonged protests.

Calling for a renewed movement, Shetty urged local leaders to raise the red flag once more in Mangalore as a symbol of resistance against municipal corruption and to demonstrate that the CPI(M) stands as an alternative.

In his presidential address, CPI(M) District Committee member Sunil Kumar Bajal remarked on BJP’s recent setbacks despite Modi’s third-term victory. Bajal claimed that the INDIA alliance had weakened BJP’s electoral performance and asserted that CPI(M) has been instrumental in building this alliance.

The event saw the attendance of CPI(M) District Secretariat members, City Committee leaders, and other senior members. CPI(M) City Secretary Santosh Bajal hosted the event, with Prashanth Acharya delivering the welcome address and Rajesh Urvas Store giving the vote of thanks.
