Mangaluru, Aug 24, 2021: Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra has informed that the district administration has decided to reopen Pre-University colleges in phases in the wake of a slight dip in the Covid cases.
Speaking to reporters, he said as of now there is no decision on re-opening of schools. He said once PU Colleges resume physical classes, a decision on re-opening of schools will be taken based on the prevailing situation.
He said presently 14,000 Covid tests are being done daily and it has been planned to increase it. He said though students arriving from Kerala had negative RT-PCR reports, around 900 of them were found positive. He further said the district administration will look into the aspect as to how the institutions have quarantined these students and the arrangements made for them. Institutions violating rules will face action, he warned.
