Passenger Ship to Lakshadweep Sets Sail from Mangalore old Port

Mangalore, November 6: ‘M V MINICOY’, a passenger ship service to Lakshdweep, has set sailed for Kadmatt Island, Lakshadweep from Mangalore Old Port on Saturday, November 6.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The inaugural trip, which is meant to be a Diwali gift, carried above 140 passengers from Mangalore old port for Kadmatt Island MV Aminidevi at around 10 am in the morning. Lakshadweep is located at a distance of about 144 nautical miles from Mangalore Old Port. The passenger ship has the capacity of 150 passengers.

The Lakshadweep Islands Tourism Development Authority has introduced the luxurious tourist liner service between Lakshadweep and Mangalore.

Kadmatt, which is close to Mangalore, is a paradise of water sports such as kayaking, snorkeling, diving, cruising, along with a wide variety of other tourist attractions. The trip, which lasts less than 14 hours, will cost Rs. 5000 per person,

The only ship journeying between Kadmatt Island and Mangalore at present is a cargo vessel called Tippu Sultan.
