Mangaluru, Feb 11, 2020: Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof P S Yadapadittaya said he intends to transform Mangalore University into a unique university in the entire nation. There are also plans to develop the University Campus into an Eco-Friendly campus as well as a Clean, Green and Fit Campus, he said.
The Vice Chancellor was participating in an interaction at the Press Club on February 11, Tuesday under the aegis of the DK District Working Journalists’ Union.
The Vice Chancellor said the University can accumulate enough resources by being prudent in spending. Alongside efforts would also be made to get CSR Funds from Corporate entities for the development of the University as well as the village of Konaje where the campus is located.
Pointing out that seven acres of the University land has been encroached, he said it has been planned to have a secure compound wall around the campus to prevent encroachment. There is a proposal to install CCTV cameras in the campus and also to depute CISF personnel provided requisite permission is secured.
The Vice Chancellor said as part of Fit Campus, a gym facility has been set up in the University as well as a hostel.It has also been proposed to ban vehicular movement in the campus and instead have cycles and battery operated buggies, he informed.
Indaje Srinivas Nayak, President of the DK Working Journalists’ Union, General Secretary Ibrahim Adkasthala were also present.
