rape caseBelthangady, Sept 4, 2022: Police have booked a 17-year-old for sexually assaulting a class X student in Beltangady. The police said that the girl met the boy on Instagram around a year ago and apparently became very close to each other, adding that the boy in conflict with the law often told the girl that he would visit her home.

The girl told the police that on August 13 the boy called up the girl and told her that he would come to her house that night and told her to keep the door of her house open and threatened to create a scene there if she did not do so.

Around 12 that night he messeged her up again telling her that he was outside her house. The girl said she was terrified and then checked that everyone in the house was asleep and then opened the door and let the boy into the house. The two of them went in to the girl’s room where the boy allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Before leaving the boy threatened the girl not to tell anyone about the incident. The girl did not tell anyone about the incident out of fear and shame. Encouraged by the girl’s silence after that the boy visited the girl’s house at least five more times and each time ended up assaulting her sexually, police said.

On Firday the boy once again called the girl and told her that he would be visiting her house again that night and would once again sexually assault her. But this time the girl had had enough and she mustered up the courage to tell her parents who then lodged a complaint with the police.
