Mangalore June 19: Diwakar Alva alias Diwakar B. A. of Vishwachethana Concepts, who was absconding after he was accused of fraud and cheating, surfaced in Mysore on June 18 and was immediately nabbed by the police. Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh guided this operation.

Diwaker (42) of Puttur had offices at Manasa Towers near PVS and Mahendra Arcade in Karangalpady. He was managing a network business in which he collected Rs 21 lakh from 200 people by selling them a policy of Rs 10,150. Diwakar had previously set up a company of the same name in Belgaum and had cheated nearly 11,000 people of a total of Rs 55 lakhs, said the police. The Talakawadi police had registered a fraud case against him under IPC section 420 on April 8, 2010. 

Diwakar will be in police custody for 5 days, during which he will be interrogated.


A police team comprising Deputy Commissioner of Police R. Ramesh, Assistant Police Commissioner B. J. Bhandari, Police Inspector Niranjan Raj Urs, Head Constable Narendra, and Police Constable Muhammed takes the credit of cracking the fraud case and nabbing the culprit.
