Mangalore, Feb 3: “Political conscience and political powers are nowhere in the present scenario, in the absence of economic power,” opined MC Nanaiah, former law minister.

Delivering a lecture on “ Judicial accountability and public administration,’ organized as part of the second death anniversary of former MLC  Blasius D’Souza at SDM College of Business Management on February 3, Wednesday, he said democracy still survived in India as it was a vibrant nation which is also having the credit of being the best democracy in the world.

Speaking on judicial accountability, he said a citizen of the land had every right to criticize the misconduct of any judge who has erred.

On the present day elections, he said it has become extremely difficult to fight any election which is fought merely through muscle power and money power.

Abhayachandra Jain, Legislator, Dr BK Ravindra, Principal, SDM Law College, Prof. Devaraj, Anup D’Souza, Rohit, Marshal Monteiro and Alban D’Souza, advocate and Notary were present on the occasion.
