Mangalore, May 7, 2013: Counting of  votes polled in Mangalore North, Mangalore South, Mangalore, Bantwal, Bethangady and Moodbidri assembly constituencies will be held at Canara College in Mangalore on May 8 from 8 am onwards. Counting of votes of Puttur and Sullia constituencies will be held in Canara PU College.

Fourteen tables are being provided to every constituency, and each of the tables will have one supervisor, one counting assistant, a micro observer, and a D group employee.  He said that during the counting, one agent for each of the candidates can be present inside the counting centre, but they are barred from using mobile phones. The officials and agents will have to be present at the centres by 7.30 am.


Counting of votes of five constituencies in Udupi district will be held at TA Pai English Medium School, Kunjibettu.


Tight security has been maintained around all the counting centres. Section 144 has been clamped from May 8 t0 May 11 to prevent untoward events. Processions,  public meetings and bursting crackers and such noisy actions prohibited.
