Private bus overturns into drain near Nagodi Ghat near Kollur: Several students injured

Kundapur, July 22, 2024: A private bus lost control and overturned into a drain near Nagodi Ghat close to Kollur on Monday.

The bus, which was traveling from Shivamogga to Kollur, had several passengers, including seven students from Kollur High School and ten students from Kollur Junior College, all of whom sustained injuries.

The injured students have been admitted to Kundapur Government Hospital for treatment. It is known that all the injured students are from the Malnad region.

Due to continuous holidays for the school, the students were returning to school on Monday. The accident occurred when the driver lost control due to heavy rain near the ghat, damaging the front part of the bus.

Udupi District Additional SP S.T. Siddalingappa, Kollur PSI Vinay M. Koralahalli, PSI Sudharani, and staff visited the accident site.

The accident left the students distressed. Baindur BEO Nagesh Nayak and Additional SP visited the school to provide support and encouragement to the students.
