Mangaluru, Nov 26, 2018 : Prof. (Dr.) M. Shantharam Shetty, Pro Chancellor, Nitte (Deemed to be University) and well known Orthopaedic Surgeon has been awarded the National Eminent Teachers Award  by the National  Board of Examinations, New Delhi.  The award was presented at the recently held 2018 NBE Convocation at New Delhi by the Vice President of India, Sri Venkaiah Naidu.

 

He has trained more than 300 post graduate students in Orthopaedics both M.S.(Ortho.), D.Orth. and DNB candidates apart from regular undergraduates who are in different  parts of the world and India serving as Orthopaedic Consultants and teachers.

Has presented more than 198 scientific papers in International, National and State  Conferences with 46 publications since 2006. Was awarded the best paper award 4 times and co-authored one book  and wrote a chapter in one.

He has delivered 68 CME lectures all around the country and abroad including 14 named orations at International, National and state levels. He served as Post Graduate examiner to various Indian Universities and the International SICOT  Examiner in Orthopaedics for the last 3 examinations held in different parts of the world and  National Board Examiner and Inspector, National Board and Medical Council of India.
