Mangaluru, June 11, 2023: Dinesh Gundu Rao, the District-in-Charge Minister of Dakshina Kannada and also the Minister for Health and Family Welfare, announced that the focus would now be on development projects and maintaining law and order to ensure peace and communal harmony in the district.

During his first visit to Mangaluru as the District-in-Charge Minister, he urged officials to engage with the public and effectively implement government schemes. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that the true beneficiaries receive the benefits of these programs.

Rao stressed the need for maintaining law and order, urging the police to take strict action against those who violate the rules. He emphasized that peace and harmony are vital for the district’s development and for attracting investors.

He acknowledged that provocation and disturbances are easy to incite, but restoring peace is challenging. Regardless of political affiliations, he called for support from everyone to assist the district administration in development and fostering brotherhood in society.

Regarding preparations for the monsoon and disaster management, Rao stated that he would instruct the district administration to take precautionary measures to minimize the impact of natural calamities.

To address public grievances, Rao announced that his office in Mangaluru would be open to all. He expressed his commitment to frequent visits to the district and maintaining contact with leaders and various organizations.

Regarding the status of the anti-communal wing in Mangaluru Commissionerate, which aims to prevent moral policing, Rao stated that he would discuss it with the Home Minister and ensure its implementation. He clarified that the wing’s objective is not to promote hatred but to take action against those involved in moral policing.

Regarding sea erosion in Ullal, Someshwar, and Panambur, Rao mentioned a government proposal, initiated by Speaker U T Khader, to address the issue. Temporary measures will be taken to protect properties and lives from any damage caused by sea erosion.

Responding to the demand for a government medical college in Puttur, Rao stated that he would review the proposal, considering the pros and cons before making a decision. He highlighted that the government has previously decided to establish medical colleges in all districts, with several already in operation. He assured that ongoing works would be reviewed by each department to minimize inconvenience to the public.

Regarding the coastal manifesto, Rao acknowledged that the Congress-led government needed time to fulfill all the promises made. He assured that all the commitments would be met within the five-year term and emphasized that the manifesto was not created merely for political gain but would be genuinely implemented.
