Hemanatha shetty If several Block Congress office bearers including Sabu Saheb and U Lokesh Hegde,Block Congress Vice Presidents,Shahul Hameed and Ismail Salmara, General Secretaries,Praveen Bhat Aranya, Joint Secretary and Koragappa, Bannur booth committee President have already resigned  from their posts, in another jolt to the party, as many as eight Congress councillors of Puttur TMC have tendered their resignation to the  District Congress President and State Minister Ramanatha Rai in protest against the sacking of Kavu Hemanath Shetty.

The councillors namely H Mohammad Ali, Anwar Kasim, Jayanthi, Shaila Pai, Shakti Sinha, Mukesh Kemminje, Jacintha Mascarenhas and Jayalakshmi Suresh in their resignation letters to Rai  have accused Puttur MLA Shakuntala Shetty of trying to create a divide among Congress workers in Puttur.

The resignation letters submitted by all Congress councillors were identical and  said they were mentally agonised following the recent developments. The letters also pointed out that they were not happy with the KPCC decision to remove Kavu Hemanath Shetty as Block Congress President who had strived hard for the party’s victory  and replacing him by  Fazal Raheem a lesser known person.

They had several complaints to make against their MLA and Said Shakuntala Shetty sidelined her party workers and alleged that she had been instrumental in sacking Kavu Hemanath Shetty with the intention of weakening the Congress in Puttur.
