Puttur, September 13, 2024: A lecturer who was seriously injured in a bike accident at Menala in Eshwaramangala six days ago and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mangaluru, has succumbed to her injuries.

The deceased is Sunanda Achyuta Poojari. She was a resident of Veeramangala in Sullia and worked as a guest lecturer at Madavu Junior College in Puttur. She was the wife of Dr Achyuta Poojari, a lecturer in Kamaje Government PU College of Bantwal.


Teacher death


Sunanda was on way to Menala to visit the family’s Tharavadu house with a relative when the mishap took place. It is learnt, it began raining when they were travelling and Sunanda had opened her umbrella. However, when her umbrella flew off due to wind, she lost balance and fell down on the road resulting in serious head injuries.
