Puttur, March 27, 2025: A youth who fell off a moving train was found at Savanoor almost 15 hours after the incident.

Uday Kumar was travelling to Bengaluru from Kumta, on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru train on March 25. At around 11 pm he fell off the train near Sunnaje located near Savanoor. The place where he fell down was deserted and  he had slipped nearly 25 feet deep down.

Passengers who came to know about the incident, informed the station master at Nettana. As no one knew the exact spot, the task of locating him was difficult.

However on March 26, some locals who had been to undertake some pump related work of a borewell, heard the faint sound of a struggling man. They informed local social activist Sachin Savanoor and the youth was traced and rescued. Later, it came to light that he was the one who had fallen off the train. The youth who has suffered serious injuries in his face and legs has been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru, as per the advice of the police.
