Mangalore, Sep 4, 2013: Rajasthan arts and crafts institution has organized a ‘Rajasthani Grameena Mela Pradarshana’, an exhibition and fair at Hotel Wood Lands Hall from Sep 4 to Sep 9. The exhibition will be open from 10.30 am to 8.30 pm.
Speaking at the press meet held on September 4, Wednesday, Dinesh Sharma, organizer of Rajasthan arts and Crafts exhibition said that there are 115 stalls and more than 175 artisans from Jaipur, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, Orissa are participating in the event.
The exhibition show cases the best silk and cotton products such as Shantiniketan Kantha Sik Saree, Cotton and silk saree, Khatha work dress material and printed pure silk saree, Hubli silk cotton saree from Karnataka, Boutique saree and dress material from West Bengal, Bhagalpur Silk dress material, Hand block print, Khadi silk, Chudidar silk and cotton dress material from Bihar and other places.
The exhibition also displays various antique pieces, show pieces, different designs jewelers, bedspreads, bed sheets, crockery items, foot wares, eateries and various other handicrafts.
Dinesh Sharma, also said that the exhibition aims to provide a platform and showcase the talent of below poverty line artisans (BPLA) across the country through such exhibition.
The exhibition displays hand embroidery towels, salwars, Kakda bedsheets which range from Rs 20- Rs 2400. A stall from Jaipur comprises of the readymade zari saree blouse, dupattas, saree borders, and ‘Latkari’s’ used for saree blouses and chudidhars.
The precious stones including opal, jade, Safire and ruby in silver and German silver rings, necklace and earring are on display and the price ranges from Rs 40 to Rs 85,000.
