Historical background : In the year 312 AD it was believed that the Roman King Constantine was victorious in a battle owing to his faith in the Holy Cross of Jesus. In the year 326 AD he sent his mother St Helen to Jerusalem to find the Holy Cross of Jesus. Thee she saw various crosses of similar shape and size. However, when she learnt that a lady was cured of her sickness when she touched one of the cross, St Helen realized that it was Holy Cross. It was later installed in the Church of Sepulcrat in Rome.
Later, the Persians took the Holy Cross to their country to wipe out the monuments of Christianity. However, in the year 629 AD, King Heraclius regained the Holy Cross back and re-installed it in Rome. A part of the Holy Cross is now installed in the Holy Cross Chapel of Kulshekhar Church.
