Renowned animal lover, rescuer Rajani Shetty chosen for Press Club Award

Mangaluru, Feb 24, 2023: Animal lover and rescuer Rajani Shetty of Mangaluru who feeds as many as 800 stray dogs everyday and nurtures around 55 stray dogs, 15 cats and other animals at her home at Ballalbagh has been selected for the Annual Award of Mangaluru Press Club.
The Award for the year 2022 will be conferred on Rajani at a function to be held at Paradise Island near Bokkapatna on March 5 on the occasion of Press Club Day celebration, informed Muhammad Arif Padubidri, General Secretary of Mangaluru Press Club.
Rajani cooks as much 60 kg rice mixed with chicken waste secured from chicken shops. She travels to various parts of the city with her husband Damodar Shetty or daughter and then offers food to the dogs which swarm around her with love as soon as she arrives.
She has the credit of rescuing 2500 animals. Her initiative is being backed by several including organisations like Biruver Kudla.
