Mangaluru, December 19, 2024: A Revenue Inspector was caught red-handed by the Lokayukta police on December 19, Thursday while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 4 lakhs from a person for inclusion of names of heirs in the RTC.
The arrested Revenue Inspector is G S Dinesh. The complainant had approached the Tahsildar’s office in Mulki last year to change the name of the heirs of his property in the RTC following the demise of his grandmother. The file was then sent to the Mulki Revenue Inspector’s office where the Revenue Inspector reportedly kept the file pending.
On December 9 when the applicant approached the Revenue Inspector, the latter had reportedly demanded a bribe of Rs 4 lakhs following which the applicant complained to the Lokayukta police.
As per the instructions of the Lokayukta, the complainant handed over the bribe amount to the Revenue Inspector near the Suratkal Junction on Thursday when the officer was caught red-handed.
The operation was led by Lokayukta Mangaluru SP M A Nataraj.
