Mangalore, Jan 13, 2013: Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas M Veerappa Moily has said that the rumours that the government would hike diesel and LPG prices were baseless.
Speaking to reporters in Mangalore on January 12, Saturday, Moily however said a proposal regarding hike in prices was before the Union Ministry and a decision would be taken at an appropriate time.
Condemning the killing of two Indian soldiers by Pakistan, he said the Pakistan government has no regrets regarding the incident.
On the Supreme Court quashing the appointment of Upa Lokayukta, Moily said the state government which was neck deep in corruption had no interest in appointing the Lokayukta or Upa Lokayukta. The government has made no appointment as it does not want a probe into irregularities, he alleged.
He said the process of selecting candidates for the next elections was underway and exuded confidence that the Congress will rise to power in the state.
