Mangaluru, June 28, 2024: Savitha Salian of Mangaluru will assume charge as the District Director of District 121 of Toastmasters International on July 1, 2024. This is the first time a member of a club in Mangaluru has taken on this responsibility, which is the highest position in the Toastmasters district hierarchy. She is a member of the Winners Club Toastmasters, Port Town Advanced Toastmasters and Let’s Debate Toastmasters in the city. She was unanimously chosen for the post during the district elections held in May. “I am grateful to the Toastmasters community for choosing me for this coveted post, and I shall do my best for the organisation,” says Savitha.

Toastmasters District 121, spanning the states of Kerala and Karnataka, was chartered in 2020. It has 174 clubs across 10 divisions, with over 3,600 members. Savitha Salian is a homemaker, soft skills trainer and English language trainer. She has previously served the district as Club Growth Director and Programme Quality Director. Her tenure as District Director will be from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. She will lead the entire district team of 58 office bearers, comprising an 8-member executive committee, 10 division directors, and 40 area directors.

Toastmasters International, which is celebrating its centenary this year, is a non-profit educational organisation that builds self-confidence and public speaking skills through a worldwide network of clubs that meet both online and in person. With a global network of 14,200 clubs spread across 148 countries and 270,000 members, Toastmasters provides a supportive environment for people from all walks of life to refine their voices and become effective leaders.
