Mangalore, Dec 22,2012: In this material world where greed is overlapping the personality of the people, there is a need for the society to emulate the ideals of Swami Vivekananda. Even schools must implement the teachings of the great personality, said former Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde.
He was participating as a chief guest at the inauguration of a Karnataka State Youth Convention organized by Ramakrishna Mission, Mangalore as part of Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary celebrations at Sangha Niketan on December 22, Saturday.
Justice Hegde further said he has visited over 520 educational institutions in the past 6 years and has interacted with the youth in order to make them understand the importance and happiness one can have from wealth that is earned legitimately.
Earlier, inaugurating the Convention, Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji said only spiritualism and nationalism can combat corruption in the country. “A person must evoke the sense of spiritualism and nationalism in oneself in order to fight corruption which was spreading like a viral disease in the nation,” he said . He urged the youth to follow the footsteps and ideals of Swami Vivekananda who strived towards a corruption free society and nation.
