Several injured as tourist bus from Shambhur overturns near Jog Falls

Bantwal, December 16, 2024: Several passengers were injured after a private tourist bus on way to Jog Falls from Shambhur in Bantwal overturned due to a technical snag while negotiating a curve at Kargal on Sunday. Two children and two women have sustained serious injuries while almost every passenger in the bus were injured.
The bus had started journey from Sri Sai Mandir at Shambhur at around 5 am on Sunday and had picked up tourists from Shambhur, Panemangaluru, BC Road and Mangaluru and had around 45 passengers.
The mishap occurred at Kargal just a few kms away from Jog Falls. The driver of a car behind the bus had immediately informed Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik who sought the help of State BJP President Vijayendra and local MLA Belur Gopalkrishna and made arrangements to shift the injured to hospital. Around 10 ambulances were arranged to shift the injured to hospital. Some of them have been shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.
