Notably, Shetty was among the Senior Advocates who represented the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee and the current CM Siddaramaiah, the former leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, in the case regarding the disqualification of 14 MLAs before the apex court in 2019. Recently, he also appeared before the Supreme Court of India as a representative for a petitioner who challenged the withdrawal of 4 per cent reservations for Muslims in the State, a decision made by the previous BJP government.
