Shashti celebration at Manjeshwara Anantheshwara Temple held

Mangalore, Dec 9, 2013: Annual Shashti Mahotsava at eighteen town’s temple famed Manjeshwara Shri Anantheshwara temple was held on Dec 8, Sunday.

Manjeshwar Shashti, the main temple festival falls on the sixth day of the month of ’Margshirha’ (November- December), is celebrated as the annual Chariot Festival or Brahma Rathotsava.

On this day, devotees performed various religious poojas to the deities.

Later, the seer was taken to the temple in a palanquin, while the deities were placed in the six wheeled chariot called Brahma Ratha decorated with flowers and flags and is drawn along the street by thousands of devotees.

Huge numbers of devotees from various places participated in the festival and seek blessings.
