Shringeri Shoot-out : Accused ANF cop produced before court

Chikmagalur, April 27, 2014 :  The CID police who are investigating into the Shringeri Shoot-out incident wherein  a cattle transporter named Kabeer was gunned down by ANF personnel, have produced the accused ANF cop Naveen Naik before the JMFC Court at NR Pura on April 26, Saturday.

The court adjourned the case to April 29 owing to the absence of the magistrate. Naveen Naika was earlier produced before the judge at his residence at Koppa on April 25, Friday and later lodged in the NR Pura prison.

The incident reported on April 19 has created a furore following which the government had entrusted the case to the CID and also decided to have a  magisterial probe. It has even directed the Deputy Commissioner and Magisterial Investigation Officer to submit a report within 45 days.
