Vittal, March 4, 2025: A huge explosion like sound created panic in several villages of Vittal on March 4, Tuesday. The sound was heard in a radius of three to four kms in Matadtadka of Vittalmudnur village as well as Kambalabettu, Meginapete, Chandalike, Vittal town and other places.

Many people suspected an earthquake. No one was injured though a few house walls developed cracks while the roof tiles of some houses were shattered.

It later came to light that an explosive exploded all of a sudden at a stone quarry at Madathadka.
