Mangalore, Dec 23: “Hindu organizations are trying to protect Hindu girls from being kidnapped; now, the Kerala High Court has labeled this phenomenon as “Love Jihad” and has blow it up into a much larger issue,” said Sri Ram Sene Leader Pramod Muthalik at a press conference organized at Hotel Woodland on Dec 23, Wednesday.
The booklet “Love Jihad” was released on the occasion as a part of Sri Rama Sene’s “Beti Bachao” abhiyan to be held from Dec 25 - Jan 25, 2009. Besides this, the recorded statements of the victims of Love Jihad were released in the form of a CD.
He said that the Karnataka High Court has ordered an enquiry to be conducted into issues related to missing person and kidnap cases. Statistics clearly show that, out of 4,700 missing person and kidnap cases, 3,000 girls have been found, 700 have been forced into prostitution, and 300 have returned home and are working in various places.
He also said that, although nobody can stop girls from falling in love and that they are not restricted from falling in love with boys, they must check out all the facts about the person they choose to love. Girls must be aware that, if they marry Muslim boys, they will get the status of fourth wife.
Love Jihadis operate from cyber centres, mobile recharge shops, and mobile shops, he said. A number of pamphlets and books in Urdu were confiscated from the Popular Front of India (PFI) office, the translated copies of which clearly state that Hindu girls must be kidnapped. He alleged that cases of Hindu girls falling in love with Muslim girls are considered to be examples of true love; but Hindu boys who wish to marry Muslim girls are brutally killed.
Muthalik stressed that the Sri Rama Sene is not against any religion or person; however, they will do everything in their power to protect Hindu girls. Accordingly, the Sri Rama Sene of Karnataka South Zone will organize a number of seminars and distribute pamphlets and books to every Hindu house, college, and organization to enhance awareness about Love Jihad.
He also urged the state government to provide a pilgrimage fund of Rs 5,000 to each Shabarimale pilgrim as is given to Haj pilgrims.
Arun Kumar Putthhila, Jithesh Kumar, Prasad Attavar, Kumar Malemar, and Madhusudhan Urwa Store were present during the press conference.
