Mangalore, Aug12,2012: St. Agnes College arranged an exhibition of rare book collections in honor of S. R. Raganathan in their conference hall on Aug 11, Saturday.
Anand K., assistant vice president for Udayavani, inaugurated S. R. Ranganathan Day, which is also known as Librarians’ Day.
Principal Dr. Sr. Prem D’Souza presided.
The books exhibited were rare books published during the pre-independence period. In his address, Mr. Anand said that he is happy to view the rare books. He voiced his opinion that books must be valued as they contain great knowledge.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sr. Prem D’Souza said that books not only provide valuable information, but also encourage people to think.
Dr. Vishala B. K., librarian, spoke about the books. Sr. Mariakripa, local manager; Sr. Jeswina; and Sr. Marie Evelyn; were also present.
