Mangaluru, Nov 24, 2024: The two-day fest ‘Pre-Unique 2024 – Excelsior’ at St Aloysius Pre-University College celebrated creativity, talent, and camaraderie, with participants from 40 schools and PU colleges joining in a vibrant display of excellence. The theme, Excelsior, symbolized striving for progress and higher achievements.
The inaugural ceremony featured actor and voice artist Baddekila Pradeep as the chief guest, who inspired the audience with his life lessons and voice artistry. Rector Rev. Fr Melwin Pinto SJ highlighted the event’s role in fostering humanity and collective progress.
Across two days, students competed in cultural, academic, and co-curricular events, including music, dance, debate, and entrepreneurship, showcasing diverse talents and fostering holistic development.
The closing ceremony welcomed alumna and UNICEF diplomat Vaishnavi Pavithran as the chief guest. Reflecting on her journey from student convenor at Pre-Unique 2014 to a global role, she encouraged students to embrace passion and purpose in their pursuits.
The student convenors and core team members of Pre-Unique 2024 were felicitated in recognition of their invaluable contributions to the event’s success. The prize distribution ceremony recognized the winners of the various individual and group competitions held during the two days of the event. In the overall high school category, St Theresa’s School secured the first place, while Lourdes Central School was the runners-up. In the PU category, St Agnes PU College emerged as the winners, with Canara PU College claiming the runners-up position.
Rev. Fr Clifford Sequeira SJ, the Principal, Rev Fr Pradeep Sequeira SJ, Finance Officer, Rev Fr Anthony Derrick SJ, Campus Minister, Mr MuraliKrishna GM and Ms Vilma Fernandes, Vice Principals, were present on the occasion.
Convenor Ms Sownya Ganesh delivered the vote of thanks, marking the end of a celebration that embodied unity, excellence, and inspiration.
