The facilities that were inaugurated and blessed included the AC Block in the Ladies Hostel, the state-of-the-art Training and Placement Department, Amphitheatre-Josarena, Fire Safety Systems & Lifts, 300kW Rooftop Solar Systems and the Kalam Auditorium.

The newly constructed AC Block in the Ladies Hostel with its capacity to accommodate 60 students has added to the value of the hostel facility on campus. The spacious rooms and the modern infrastructure are intended to foster the learning needs of the students.

The addition of the new facilities has given a corporate look to the Training and Placement Department. The infrastructure with a modern outlook and necessary amenities is sure to inspire the students during campus placements. The students visiting the department are made to get a glimpse of their future workspaces and this helps them get geared up for the recruitment process.

The Amphitheatre Josarena has been built in line with the National Education Policy 2020 that places a special impetus on nurturing the cultural, artistic and literary talents of the students. This one of its kind facility on Mangaluru provides a platform for the students to show and hone their talent through a wide variety of programs.

The Fire Safety Systems have been installed at 4 places on campus as per mandatory requirements and ensures that all safety aspects are met to monitor, detect and suppress fire hazards. To add to the above, additional elevators have also been installed at multiple places.

The college has been very proactive in building a clean & green energy campus and the solar rooftop project is a major step taken by the institution to achieve this goal. The newly installed on-grid solar rooftop system does not need batteries and is connected to the public electricity grid. At a total cost of Rs 1.3 crore, the college has now installed a 300 kW capacity solar rooftop on campus that is sufficient to supply 80% of the permitted full load in the campus in addition to enhancing the eco-friendliness of SJEC.

The renovated 10,000sqft Kalam Auditorium with a central air conditioning facility and 600 seating capacity is going to be the venue for all the marquee events hosted by the college like Tech Fest, TEDxSJEC and many more.

Following the inauguration of these facilities, the contributions of several dedicated individuals involved in these developmental projects were recognized as they were honoured by His Lordship.

During the event, Rev. Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, Director of the college handed over the NAAC certificate to Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangaluru and President of SJEC.
