Mangaluru Dec 20, 2016: BJP state general secretary N Ravi Kumar has accused the Siddaramaiah led state government of showing lack of concern towards the problems of the drought hit areas in Karnataka.
Addressing media at BJP office on Tuesday December 20, he said though the state government had declared 42 taluks in 13 districts as drought affected recently, so far primary measures have not been taken to provide immediate relief to affected areas clearly revealing the irresponsible attitude of the state government.
The neglect of the Krishi Sanchayi scheme and Crop Insurance scheme supposed to provide relief for the loss of crops, has dragged which dragged farmers into further difficulties, alleged Ravi Kumar.
BJP will form five teams which include BJP State President Yeddyurappa, Jagadish Shettar and Sadananda Gowda to inspect the drought hit areas and analyze their situation. Later, a report will be submitted to Central government to seek help for the farmers, he added.
Umanath Kotian, Prabha Malini, Vikas Puttur, Sanjay Prabhu, Vedavyas Kamath and others were present.
