After the meeting, Qureshi told reporters that whatever is in the best interests of the individual and the state will be done. Patrao can approach legal authorities and let the court decide the case, he said. In the meantime, the commission will do whatever it can, he assured.

Declaring that development projects shouldn’t be undertaken at the cost of agriculture because the nation depends a lot on agriculture, Qureshi said that Gregory Patrao is a genuine farmer and that concerned authorities must provide explanations for demolishing his house. He assured that he will study the matter further and take the required action as soon as he reaches Bangalore.

President of Catholic Sabha Walter Cyril Pinto, activist Vidya Dinkar, Gregory Patrao, Captain Vas, and many others were present.
