Students made to frisk candidates at KPSC exam centre!

Mangaluru, Dec 18, 2023: An incident wherein the services of students were used to frisk candidates appearing for the KPSC competitive exams, at a centre in the city on Sunday has caused much uproar.

The incident took place at the Balmatta Government Women’s PU College where exams were held for the posts of Accounts Assistants in the State Audits and Accounts Department.

The exams were held in a total of three centres including this centre. The students were seen frisking candidates using metal detectors. It is alleged that candidates managed to enter the centre without proper inspection. The KPSC had instructed use of metal detector, mobile jammer, bio metric face detection and body cameras for inspection.

An agency was appointed through tender for the security purposes at the examination centre

Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan said the issue will be probed and suitable action would be taken.
