Sullia, jan 18, 2014:A spurious liquor manufacturing den in a reserve forest area in Aletti village has been detected by the Sullia forest and excise officials.
Acting on a tip off, the official team raided the place called Nanguli and seized 15 litres of spurious liquor, three barrels of hulirasa and other vessels and equipment. The seized hulirasa has been destroyed by the officials.
The suspicion is that some people from Kerala were engaged in the task of manufacturing spurious liquor in the forest and then smuggling it to Kerala.
Excise sub-inspector Mohan Kumar, Range Forest Officer Subbaiah and other staff were part of the operation.
