Sullia: Youth assaulted by group for alleged misbehavior with college girl

Sullia, September 23, 2024: An incident wherein a youth was brutally assaulted by a gang over the issue of alleged misbehavior with a female student who was a fellow traveller in a bus, took place in Sullia bus stand on September 23, Monday.

Abdul Niyaz who was assaulted, was later rescued by the police and admitted to the local hospital where he received treatment and later left the place.

It is learnt the girl who is a college student had boarded the Bengaluru-Subrahmanya-Sullia bus near Bisile Ghat and sat on a vacant seat beside the accused youth. It is learnt, he misbehaved with her following which she informed the conductor and even some of her classmates.

The accused youth had alighted the bus at Subrahmanya while the girl reached Sullia where her classmates had gathered. Later the group went by a car in search of the accused and after locating him at Paichar brought him back to Sullia bus stand where he was attacked by the girl and her other classmates. The police who rushed to the spot, rescued the young man.

Police are investigating the case.
