Suratkal: Repaired railway over bridge inaugurated

Mangaluru, February 4, 2025: The Suratkal-MRPL railway over bridge repaired by the Mangaluru City Corporation at a cost of Rs 78 lakhs was inaugurated by Mangaluru North MLA Bharath Shetty on Monday.

In his address, the MLA said despite the bridge under the control of the Railways, the bridge road has been concretized in the interest of the people by securing a NoC. He also said there was a need to widen the railway over bridge road into a four-lane road. A proposal has been placed before MP Brijesh Chowta and Railway Minister Somanna, he said and hoped the same would get approval in the future.

Mayor Manoj Kumar, Deputy Mayor Bhanumathi, local corporator Saritha Shasidhar and others were present.

Meanwhile, an allegation is heard that the opposition leaders in the MCC as well as the local ward corporators were not invited for the inaugural.
