Mangaluru, Dec 24, 2022: The allegation of Congress leader and former MLA Moidin Bava with regard to Rs 38 crore commission regarding the Suratkal market project, has invited the ire of sitting MLA of Mangaluru North Bharath Shetty.
Shetty has challenged Bava to produce documents to prove his allegations. He also said he will file a Rs 3 crore defamation case against Bava if the latter fails to produce the documents.
Shetty said Mangaluru North constituency is progressing and various works have been taken up. He said it was Bava who was responsible for the suspension of the Suratkal market works as the land was not completely let to the contractor for development. The government has provided additional grants and the work would resume, he said.
He said a lawyers notice will be served to Bava for the baseless allegation.
Mayor Jayananda Anchan, Corporator Shwetha Poojary, Mangaluru North Yuva Morcha President Bharath Raj Krishnapur were also present.
